RaySearch will expand to new headquarters in 2021

RaySearch Laboratories AB (publ) has experienced strong growth in recent years, creating the need for larger and more efficient premises. During the third quarter of 2021, the medical technology company will move its headquarters from Sveavägen 44 to a new location in Hagastaden in Stockholm, which is expected to become one of the world's leading life science hubs.

Karin Gedda, architect and interior designer, Strategisk Arkitektur, says: "RaySearch is an innovative and high-performing software company that needs a work environment that strengthens and motivates its employees. Therefore, we have adapted the work environment to the business and its needs, which means many team and project rooms of different sizes for flexibility. In addition, there are several multifunctional areas and lounges for both work and recovery. With its own roof terrace, there is also the opportunity to look out over Stockholm and the leafy Brunnsviken area.”

Johan Löf, founder and CEO, RaySearch, says: “RaySearch is growing and, together with Strategisk Arkitektur, we have developed the concept for our new headquarters that reflects what RaySearch is and what we stand for. Health and a sustainable working life are also key themes. The new premises will support us in our continued relationships with customers and partners and will facilitate our continued expansion.”

The new RaySearch headquarters at Eugeniavägen 18 is a state-of-the-art office building designed by White Architects. It features a spectacular design with plenty of glass and a dark, slightly tilted facade. The building is environmentally certified and, with its distinct architectural expression, will be a landmark in Hagastaden.

The design concept focuses on the core values of RaySearch, such as innovation, consistently high quality, sustainability and long-term perspective, and the core of its business, to fight cancer through innovative software solutions. This is embodied in an environment of classic features (long-term) mixed with modern solutions (innovation), a peaceful and varied interior environment (sustainability) with an emphasis on high-quality natural materials, such as wood, stone and metal, many textiles for a cozy feel, and there are plenty of plants.

Lotta Larsson, HR Manager at RaySearch, says: “The goal is to create an inspiring and effective environment that supports our employees in their daily work. We want to promote the well-being and motivation of our employees and create an environment that stimulates innovation, collaboration and effective sharing of knowledge, as well as an active, sustainable and healthy lifestyle. On the basement level, for example, there will be shower and changing rooms for those who commute by bicycle, and, on the ground floor, there will be a gym. In addition, there are good opportunities for exercise, recovery and reflection in the natural environment of the nearby Haga Park.”

In and around Hagastaden, there is a large concentration of research and entrepreneurship in life science, a collective concept for sciences aimed at improving life and health. Here, world-leading education and research is conducted at the Karolinska Institute, the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University and the Karolinska University Hospital. Half of the Stockholm region's life science companies are located within five kilometers of the area. The ambition is for Hagastaden to become one of the world's leading life science hubs.
